Nnamdi-Kanu Twitter on Saturday deleted inciting tweets from the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on the Nigerian Army. In the tweets, Kanu had vowed to unleash terror on soldiers deployed to Nigeria’s South-East. The development came just 24 hours after the Federal Government suspended Twitter’s operations in Nigeria. The IPOB leader also used derogatory words to describe some government officials including the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai; the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina; and the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu. He wrote: “It’s not for the living to respond to the dead but given the lack of reasoning prevalent in the #Zoo Nigeria, I wish to assure @GarShehu (Garba Shehu), the Jihadi midget @elrufai (Nasir El-Rufai) & that Fulani lapdog Femi Adesina that any army they send to #Biafraland will die there. None will return alive.” The microblogging platform deleted the tweets for violating its rules. Twitter had on Tuesday deleted President Muhammadu Buhari’s “genocidal tweets” on Nigeria’s civil war that ended more than five decades ago.
