Two nurses have been confirmed dead, while 10 others sustained varying degrees of injury in an auto crash that occurred on Sunday on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. It was gathered that the lone accident, which involved a white Toyota Hiace with number plate OG49A07, happened at Akinale village in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State. It was learnt that the bus was conveying one male and 17 females as of the time of the crash. It was gathered that occupants of the bus were nurses, who were all heading for a party to honour the matron of one of the hospitals in Abeokuta. The two dead victims were from the Ademola Hospital, Ijemo, and the General Hospital, Ijaiye, both in Abeokuta. The spokesman for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the crash. Akinbiyi said in a statement that one of the survivors accused the driver of being on top speed and using a mobile phone at a sharp bend.
