At least eight military officers including the Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, died in a plane crash in Kaduna on Friday. The ill-fated military Beachcraft 350 aircraft crashed near the Kaduna International Airport at about 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Nigerian Air Force confirmed the incident. The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Edward Gabkwet, who confirmed the crash on the Force Twitter handle, however, said the cause of the accident has not been ascertained.
